Description Mike 2016-05-31 11:26:47 UTC
System.ServiceModel doesn't exists System.ServiceMdoel.Duplex

And that will cause us can't use WCF Duplex Channel for 2 way communication.

That's a really big problem for us. I saw there is a lot of people already asked about Duplex Channel in Forms of Xamarin for few years, but it still not release.

I really hope we could use this feature, even .Net Core has it already which is starting way slow than Mono.

I'd confirm(already tested) .Net core WCF PR1 already had supported Duplex Channel: https://github.com/dotnet/wcf/releases/tag/v1.0.0-rc1

I download Mono Framework, and check, I'll found there is exists currently Xamarin telling me missing class like:

DuplexClientBase
BeginOperationDelegate
EndOperationDelegate

...etc

Why Xamarin Remove it? Could you add it please? or give us a solution for add it.

Comment 6 Mike 2016-10-19 11:44:27 UTC
Where are the people ?? Do you want us quit use WCF on the Server ?? If only WP support it, not Xamarin on the mobile, what't the point of WCF future?
Comment 7 Mike 2016-10-26 19:09:15 UTC
Even WCF for .NET Core 1.1 Preview1 has released now, What exactly the Xamarin developers doing for WCF???? When we could get the duplex channel? after WCF dead??

Who response for Class Libraries of Xamarin??

To anyone who want it: There is a discussion about it(with WCF and Xamarin team): https://github.com/dotnet/wcf/issues/1688
