Description Aris 2012-01-19 05:21:12 UTC
An unfriendly error at runtime compilation is generated if a ';' is missing in an .ascx file. The error may look like:

/var/folders/kV/kVElXdeIEiO4H4SdygxelE+++TI/-Tmp-/me-temp-aspnet-0/9441c4e3/App_Web_3336d5a9_0.cs(130,1): error CS1525: Unexpected symbol `__output'

For example, the error may be generated if one adds code like this to the view user control page:

<% Html.RenderPartial("HelloWorld", data) %>

instead of

<% Html.RenderPartial("HelloWorld", data); %>
