When XS starts the debugee it doesn't clean up the environment and thus all the variables are inherited by the child process. This affects, for instance, GTK# applications on Linux. On Ubuntu, for instance, the global menu (or the recently introduced in-titlebar menu) won't work for the debugee because XS disables them by exporting, from its launcher shell script, the UBUNTU_MENUPROXY variable with value set to 0.
Whitelisting all the standard variables is an option, but I think it would be better if XS blacklisted the environment variables it sets itself, either from the launcher script or from within XS process.
