Description Ted Elliott 2015-01-08 15:57:14 UTC
When using System.Console.ReadLine() in mono it clears the screen. This differs from Windows behavior which does not clear the screen. This also happens with other methods like Console.Read().

The following sample program exibits the behavior:
//////////////////////////////////////////
using System;

public class HelloWorld
{
    static public void Main ()
    {
        Console.WriteLine("before readline");
        Console.ReadLine();
        Console.WriteLine("after readline");
    }

}
///////////////////////////////////////////

The desired result would be for "before readline" text to stay on the screen the whole time without getting cleared off.

This is on an ubuntu 14 system running mono 3.10.0
