Thanks for the report. We have a workaround in #58789 that will give the intended error.

After applying the patch fix, I am seeing a new error on a third-party library I am currently using.  

Error MT2102: Error processing the method 'System.Void Couchbase.Lite.Manager::.cctor()' in the assembly 'Couchbase.Lite.dll': Value cannot be null. (MT2102)


How can I revert to the previous version of Visual Studio and Xamarin.iOS?  I was able to access previous downloads/installs via the Xamarin Developer console before, but that doesn't support newer updates anymore.

The fix for #58789 was to get mtouch to report the correct (MT2102) error.

This specific error was fixed in #58834. There's a build available to correct this and the fixes will be part of our upcoming service release.

@Brendan can you reply about the steps to downgrade ? thanks!
