Description thelastmammoth 2013-01-09 13:16:07 UTC
is there (if not, enhancement request) a way to open a file at a particular line (and also at a particular column) from the OS terminal.

For example in sublimetext, we can just type:
"/Applications/Sublime Text 2.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl" file.cpp:12:3
to open file.cpp at line 12 and column 3.

this is very useful when using iterm terminal which allows to click on such file patterns (from crash logs / stack traces) and launch a custom action.

currently, these are the only commands:

/Applications/MonoDevelop.app/Contents/MacOS/MonoDevelop --help Err 130 #3327
MonoDevelop 3.0.6
--no-splash Do not display splash screen.
--ipc-tcp Use the Tcp channel for inter-process
--new-window Do not open in an existing instance of MonoDevelop
  -h, -?, --help Show help
      --perf-log Enable performance counter logging
--no-redirect Disable redirection of stdout/stderr to a log file

This can be done with file.cpp;12;3. Help still doesn't reflect the usage of this, so I'll leave this bug closed.
