In MonoDelevop running on Windows 7 32bit whit JDK7 pre installed setup, the Emulator is not being recognized even when it's fully loaded.
Version: 7 32bit
Setup: JDK 7 pre installed
JDK Version: 7
Visual Studio: 2010
Did you start the emulator from MonoDevelop, or externally?
The same happens on Windows XP. I started the emulator from MonoDevelop (see also bug #948 as it might be related)
Note, however, that when you close the Select Device dialog box and choose the Run -> Upload to Device menu option the emulator image shows up as running.
Changing importance to Normal since there's a workaround
This workaround does not work for me using the trial version of Monodroid. The emulator does not show up in either Select Device menu.
This renders Visual Studio a requirement to use the trial version.
Version: 6 64-bit
JDK Version: 6
Monodevelop 2.8 fixes this issue for me. "Start" is still greyed out, however double clicking on the instance in the list starts the debugging process.
Reported as fixed. Closing.
