Customer upgraded to Visual Studio 2012 a few days ago. Now when they try to open solution files in MonoDevelop, it does not work. If they right click a *.sln file in Windows Explorer and choose "Open with..." and select "MonoDevelop", MonoDevelop starts and then MonoDevelop starts up Visual Studio 2012 to open the project file and when they switch over to MonoDevelop,it has not loaded any solution file. If they try to open the solution file by first starting MonoDevelop and then open the solution file, MonoDevelop claims that the Hex Editor is the only supported viewer for the selected file.
They found a work-around for the problem. If they open the file in Notepad and change the first lines from:
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 12.00
# Visual Studio 2012
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version *11.00*
# Visual Studio *2010*
...it works just fine. When they change it back, it is again impossible to open solution in MonoDevelop.
They are using 220.127.116.11.
Looks like Jeff already has patch for this, but the process was stalled. Marking as duplicate and upping the severity of the existing bug.
