Description Miguel de Icaza [MSFT] 2011-09-11 01:15:12 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new MonoTouch solution, of type "MonoTouch Single View Application" - Universal (or iPhone)

2. Go to the generated AppDelegate class, just before the line that says:

window.RootViewController = viewController

Insert the text "viewC", notice that "viewController" is not offered. End typing "viewController", notice that at no point did it offer completing viewController

3. Type ".", notice how it now changed the valid "viewController" field into the class "UIViewController".

Works for me as well:

Are you using beta1 or master ? I checked the code completion bug tests and they seem to work.

Another possibility is that there may be something wrong with the project .pidb files but even that shouldn't result in a bug like that because the current open file is always parsed and always the recent parse info is taken.

Therefore I need more info (& check the master version). Try starting monodevelop from command line with make run - the console output may help >or< the internal message log (pad). All error information is printed there as well.

This happens with our officially released MonoDevelop 2.8 Beta 1.

this one is fixed.

We have validated this issue and noticed that Autocomplete shows the 'viewController' when I typed 'v' just before the window.RootViewController = viewController line on AppDelegate class file.

Hence , Please closed this issue.
