Description kcghost 2012-09-03 12:44:16 UTC
Description of Problem:
The Visual Style preferences, User Interface theme dropdown only has two options:Default, and MS-Windows, despite several GTK themes having been installed. Furthermore "Default" does not choose the GTK default theme, but rather an unknown grey theme.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install GTK+ Themes Installer available here: http://gtk-win.sourceforge.net/home/index.php/Main/Downloads
2. Check User Interface theme dropdown for changes.

Actual Results:
Default and MS-Windows themes are available.

Expected Results:
A long list of available themes.

How often does this happen?

Additional Information:
Tried replacing the gtk configs and adding themes to the Mono installation folder also, did not help.

Most likely the themes are not installed where MonoDevelop looks for them. MonoDevelop on Windows uses GTK# for .NET, which includes a GTK+ build. You would have to install the themes into that GTK+ build.

You can find it in "C:\Program Files (x86\)\GtkSharp\2.12".

Thanks for your help, I guess I tried everywhere but the right place. I was confused as I have a regular GTK Runtime build, Mono has a GTK build, and I forgot about the existence GTK Sharp.

Though confusing, this is not a bug.
