Description Nischal 2012-08-17 04:20:41 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a MFA application
2. Select the active configuration as Release
3. Run(Release) the application

Actual result: Experiencing non-blocking issue "Deployment failed. The assembly directory could not be created" in MD console output window. However application launches successfully on device/emulator.

Expected result:
Application should successfully deploy to the device/emulator without any non-blocking issue in console output and the assembly directory should be created.

@Nischal: Did Fast Deployment get enabled, or is the Shared Runtime enabled?

Both should be disabled for Release builds...
Comment 2 PJ 2012-08-22 13:36:31 UTC
I can reproduce this with the standard Release configuration.
Comment 3 Jonathan Pryor 2012-08-22 16:10:38 UTC
Looks like a dup of #6637 (or vice-versa).

Sanity test: does `xbuild /t:Install /p:Configuration=Release Project.csproj` install the package as expected? (Use MSBuild instead of xbuild on Windows.)

Today on release mode this issue is not appearing.

We have tested this with the following build:

MonoDevelop- - 5eac10aa9d8a0ee2329b8ffe98f568b74dfd2f40
MFA - b2ad54e976e39bf9b0af4f652e21bec435303543
Comment 5 PJ 2012-08-23 12:06:13 UTC
Looks like this is resolved as per comment 4, likely by the fix for bug 6637 (as written in comment 3. Marking as resolved.
Comment 6 Jatin 2013-03-14 08:09:53 UTC
Today, with the latest builds:

MFA 4.6.01058 (Mac)
MFA 4.6.01055 (Windows)
Mono 2.10.12

We have observed that this issue does not exists, as we are successfully able to run the application on emulator/device on the release mode.

Hence, closing this issue.
