Description Marek Habersack 2012-08-07 18:44:41 UTC
The following crash occurs when running the unified installer on a Snow Leopard machine: https://gist.github.com/3273064
Information comes from bug #6409

It might also be a MonoMac bug, if so, please re-assign accordingly.

Can you please provide a self-contained test case that exhibits the problem?
Comment 2 Marek Habersack 2012-08-08 03:47:15 UTC
I can't even reproduce it :( I don't have Snow Leopard and it's the only OSX where it was reported to happen.

There is another bug #5133 that had the same stack trace, in that one, a screenshot shows the last screen shown before it crashes:

Perhaps you can extract the code that shows that and what happens next for us to reproduce in the office.

Googling for bits of the stack trace points out to kinds of buttons being a problem on Snow Leopard, see this problem with Qt's inline buttons:

Maybe it is one of the controls you are using that is buggy in Snow Leopard.

You can also download Snow Leopard and run it on a VM, that way we could see what managed code is crashing as well.

I did use the Inline buttons which caused problems in Qocoa. I made a few changes to the installer to get rid of them. However, I'm unable to run SL in a VM :( - Parallels refuses to run it, VirtualBox won't install it at all (both on Mac). My desktop is an AMD machine, which prevents me from trying the fix there. I will contact the QA team to repeat the tests, however.

Closing since this is from 2012 and newer installers should work fine. Can be reopened if necessary.
