Description Atsushi Eno 2011-09-06 04:41:39 UTC
Android (in Java ecosystem) seems to allow "missing library" while building .apk. See repro below for what I mean:

- Create a new M4A application project.
- From the project property, create an explicit AndroidManifest.xml.
- Open Properties/AndroidManifest.xml and add a line below inside <application> tag (it is copied from ApiDemos in Android SDK):

        <uses-library android:name="com.example.will.never.exist" android:required="false" />

- Build and run.

/home/atsushi/Projects/MonoAndroidTest1/MonoAndroidTest1/MonoAndroidTest1.csproj (SignAndroidPackage) ->
/home/atsushi/svn/monodroid/tools/msbuild/build/Novell/Novell.MonoDroid.Common.targets (_CompileAndroidPackage target) ->

	AndroidManifest.xml : error 1: Unable to find library 'com.example.will.never.exist'.
	monodroid: error 1 : System.InvalidOperationException: AndroidManifest.xml : error 1: Unable to find library 'com.example.will.never.exist'.

This is required for JUnit support (<uses-library android:name="android.test.runner" />")
Comment 2 Atsushi Eno 2012-02-29 04:10:33 UTC
This is fixed.
