This behavior is *not* evident in simulation - it *is* evident when pushing to a physical device (ipod/gen2 running 4.2.1)

Using current version of Monotouch, create a single-view iphone solution and build it as release/iphone, no changes, no modifications, and run  it.  Press the Home button.  Go back to application.  Application re-launches *always* - it terminates on suspend *always*.

Further testing - add a button and a label to the single-viewcontroller's view above, populate the label on touching the button, then press home and then go back to app.

Debugging shows that ResignActivation() is *never* called, instead WillTerminate is always called.

Further testing - explicitly add the UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend key to info.plist, set it to <false/>, perform same sequence as above - app *always* terminates on suspend.

I submitted a request for support on this as it is a roadblock  to my publishing, but received a dismissive response.  I would assume that Xamarin might consider, given the QA track record, that something may have slipped through in any of the multitude of updates and should really check this out, actually duplicate it (not simply do a web search and dismiss the submitter).

I have 5.3.5 version of Monotouch and iPad 5.1.1. 
This is reproducing for me too. Application always terminates on Suspend. Fix this, please.

UIDevice.CurrentDevice.IsMultitaskingSupported is TRUE.

I can't reproduce with MT 5.3.5 and iPad 5.1.1

I still can't reproduce this.

If it's still a problem, please get the device log (in Xamarin Studio's menu View -> Pads -> iOS Device log) from a suspension and attach it here (and reopen the bug).
