Hibernate and Mono.Data.Sqlite both need to use the SQLite metadata functions.
However, the version of sqlite shipped with mono doesn't have this enabled.

This means that any application using Mono.Data.Sqlite (which is also shipped with Mono) needs to compile their own version of sqlite.

Can we have this enabled in SQLITE by default?

-> class libs.

The problem is MacOS SQLite, we do not ship Sqlite ourselves

Actually, we do ship it.

We are looking at upgrading it.

Any update on this? I'm having to look for alternatives that are pure C# and none of them are that compelling. Hopefully updating the build script to compile SQLite with the SQLITE_ENABLE_COLUMN_METADATA option would be straight forward, and it would make a huge difference to how applications need to be packaged.

I'm happy to have a look at providing a patch myself if someone can point me to where sqlite is compiled/packaged from in the mono source - a quick search didn't yield much, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the source tree.

Look at bockbuild module in github.com/mono
