Description Chris Hardy [MSFT] 2011-09-04 10:13:12 UTC
Allow the possibility to turn off converting a file with different line ending. In my case one file has windows line endings, the other has unix line endings. This is not a problem for me, but when compiling, monodevelop asks for converting the file. (the compiler continues without my changes in that file!) Can there be an option to turn off this conversion?

This is pretty important as it leads to very strange compilation behaviours.
Comment 2 Alan McGovern 2011-12-01 13:46:23 UTC
This has been fixed by aborting the build with an appropriate error message if there are unsaved files and the user has not enabled 'Build without saving'. This should resolve the issue in the neatest way.

Please provide some steps so that we can verify this issue.

Kindly change status to NEEDINFO.

1) On Mac, get a file with Windows line endings and add it to the project.
2) Make a single edit to the file, e.g. add a comment.
3) Do not save the file.
4) Build the project
5) MD should prompt to save the file and ask whether to convert line endings, and save the file, before building.

Xamarin.Studio 4.1.13 and still getting this warning :(

Working on a multiplatform solution Win/VS/MacOsX and X.S is still offering me an option to convert line endings. I really don't care about line endings. Just use line endings used in file an never give me this dialog. I have Line conversion setting to "leave as it is" but, still getting this dialog.

Prompts for me as well, I have common code for Windows and iOS and getting really tired of this annoying prompt. It seems to work when opening a file, but when going back to it the check and prompt are showing up. PLEASE FIX THIS AS IT IS THE SINGLE MOST ANNOYING CODING THING I FACE.
