Description Jordan Barker 2018-03-14 22:56:56 UTC

Using Xamarin Profiler to find memory leak in Xamarin iOS app - the profiling session with start and the app will launch - after 20 seconds or so, the session ends and the app exits. The Console tab ends with this log entry:

2018-03-06 17:20:58.978 Wolf.iOS[438:100441] error: * Assertion at /Users/builder/data/lanes/5808/1c6f300e/source/xamarin-macios/external/mono/mono/profiler/log.c:546, condition `mono_lls_insert (&log_profiler.profiler_thread_list, hp, &thread->node) && "Why can't we insert the thread in the LLS?"' not met
Xamarin.Hosting: Process '438' exited.
Application 'com.ifit.standalone.inhouse' terminated.

Testing a new application on the iPhone 8 results in the same error.

##Observed results

Application exits and Profiler crashes after 20 seconds.

##Expected Results

Xamarin Profiler will profile the iOS application once deployed to an actual device.

@Jordan Can you please attach the profiler logs (Help->Open log directory) to the bug?

Comment 3 Rodrigo Moya 2018-03-19 13:46:34 UTC
This is indeed a mono profiler crash, so moving it to Mono bug tracker at GH -> https://github.com/mono/mono/issues/7683
Comment 4 John Miller [MSFT] 2018-04-13 17:45:19 UTC
@Jordan, @Peter

The mono issue that this was moved to has some additional questions on it. Could you please follow up there? We currently don't have enough info to investigate this further.
