Description David Straw 2012-07-13 18:24:47 UTC
A CS0414 warning (unused private field) is generated when the only use of a field is inside of a delegate that gets accepted as an expression tree by the target.

Simple test case:

// Repro.cs
using System;
using System.Linq.Expressions;

namespace UnusedFieldWarningTest
  class Repro
    int i = 0;
    void UseField()
      TakeExpression(() => Console.Write(i));
    void TakeExpression(Expression<Action> expr) { }
