Description Joseph Anderson 2012-07-07 17:07:02 UTC
I have an issue with Video recordings and MonoTouch.

If I record the screen, exit, press home, return to the app and record, the camera never opens. It seems that running the application in a background thread causes an unknown error.

I have used two separate apps and I see the same issue:

Here are more details on the ticket:

Do I have a coding error?

If I go to AppDelegate > DidEnterBackground and enter this code, I can get my video camera to appear:

		public override void DidEnterBackground (UIApplication application)
			CameraViewController CameraPicker = new CameraViewController();
			application.Windows[0].RootViewController = CameraPicker;

I also get this error:

MonoTouch.Foundation.MonoTouchException: Objective-C exception thrown. Name: NSGenericException Reason: Cannot call UICreateScreenImage() while app is in the background.

I had to add this code to Info.plist:

To App Delegate, I had to add this code:

		public override void OnResignActivation (UIApplication application)
			UIApplication.SharedApplication.PerformSelector(new Selector("terminateWithSuccess"), null, 0f);
