This results in user session information loss and what appears to be a recompile of the app, which can effectively stall a production instance with an outage.
Settings for when this happens, can apparently be configured in IIS -
However on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Mono 5.2 there is no access to Microsoft.Web.Administration.
How can this config be accessed and changed?
IIS is not supported or Linux, or at least is not supported with Xamarin, so I am not sure what exactly recycle your application. Which HTTP server do you use to run the Mono with Fastcgi or Hyperfastcgi?
We have used both Fastcgi and Hyperfastcgi in the past and the recycling effect happens on both.
Currently we use Hyperfastcgi.
Which HTTP server are you using on ubuntu? IIUC Hyperfastcgi is the way the HTTP server invoke mono, so are you talking about https://github.com/xplicit/HyperFastCgi?
Sorry, I misread.
We use Nginx.
