When refactoring/renaming field in a class all occurrences should also have highlighted row (like in most text editors).
What do you mean by "row selection"? Do you have a screenshot of some other editor doing this?
The screenshot appears to show a marker on the line number margin during an incremental find operation, to indicate which rows have result. We could implement this, but it's an enhancement and it's not a very common feature - I've never seen an editor do it.
And the feature request is for MonoDevelop to do a highlight like this during an inline rename operation, when we create linked regions to make all of the occurrences editable simultaneously.
Is this an accurate description?
Just to clarify, this is not for find but replace. MD can do inline replace only with cmd+r (or at least I don't know about others)
Implemented in ui refresh.
@Mhutch: That screenshot is for the sublime 'text link' mode. They've multi carets to solve that problem and these markers mark the current caret line.
The multi caret solution is a good one as well - but I think our text link modes are a better one, but atm our implementation is a bit limited atm. (multi line links are not possible atm)
Okay, so if I understand this correctly, it's two things:
1) replace the full-width "current line" marker with a marker in the margin
2) show the "current line" marker for each line that has a caret or text link
Is that a fair description?
