If you add a Xamarin.Forms XAML file to a UWP project, IntelliSense shows lots of errors such as "The type 'ContentPage' was not found." It also doesn't suggest any Xamarin.Forms controls when you type in new XAML.
1. Create a blank Universal Windows App.
2. Add the Xamarin.Forms NuGet package.
3. Add a Xamarin.Forms Content Page called Page1.
4. Open Page1.xaml.
==> Notice lots of IntelliSense errors.
5. Build the solution.
==> The IntelliSense errors go away (for the moment).
6. Add another label under '<Label Text="Welcome to Xamarin Forms!" />'.
==> Notice IntelliSense doesn't work correctly when you start typing '<Label>'. Also notice that when you start typing, all the IntellSense errors come back.
Assigning to the VS team for additional investigation for now unless its determined to be a Forms issue.
I will synch up with the Authoring team (XAML) and investigate why the intellisense is not working in the context of a UWP project.
Sorry for inconvenience and I will keep you posted.

I could confirm this is an issue in the core xaml editor and it should be fixed by the authoring team in 15.4. Thanks for reporting this. Adrian
