Description Sandy Armstrong [MSFT] 2017-05-31 14:09:26 UTC
Observed in both 15.2 and player branch.

1a. Create a Visual C# -> Cross Platform -> Xamarin.Forms -> Master/Detail project. (the labels may be slightly different...I have no templates installed today, but checked this on 15.2 yesterday)
1b. Alternatively, take any Android project and remove <AndroidUseSharedRuntime>True</AndroidUseSharedRuntime> from the debug configuration.
2. Go to Android project properties in Visual Studio -> Android Options
3. Observe "Use Shared Runtime" checkbox.

Expected results:

"Use Shared Runtime" should be checked. AndroidUseSharedRuntime is true by default.

Actual results:

"Use Shared Runtime" is unchecked. Build/deploy behaves as if AndroidUseSharedRuntime is true, though (as far as I can tell...Inspector should not work, otherwise).

The problem is not with the templates. VSmac Android templates all exclude AndroidUseSharedRuntime from the Debug property group, and properly treat the value as True. For some reason, XVS Android templates mostly have an explicit <AndroidUseSharedRuntime>True</AndroidUseSharedRuntime> line. This should not be necessary.
