From my limited testing, it appears new "MonoMac" projects set the NSMainNibFile to "MainWindow". This means none of your AppDelegate methods get hit. Switching that to "MainMenu" fixes things. 

This used to work, I'm unsure what changed (upgrade issue?).

Yes, this was fixed in 3.0.3, which is in beta.
