In Gtk on mac, things seem to scroll in giant chunks. It would appear that the scroll events are coming too infrequently. By contrast, non-Gtk apps are able to scroll pixel by pixel.
This is because GTK/GTK have no concept of a "scroll distance". Each scroll events scrolls by the same amount, whereas NSEvent knows about "deltaX"
and "deltaY" when it's a NSScrollWheel event.
There is an upstream patch which fixes the issue, including patching
GtkRange, attached to this bug report:
Will look into finally getting this into upstream.
*** Bug 1515 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I attached a much improved version of the patch to the upstream bug.
This should be fixed by the GTK+ version that's currently in Mono beta, so I'm marking it fixed. Please re-open if it happens with GTK+ version is 2.24.8 or later. GTK+ version can be found in the MD About dialog.
