GUI information about the error
I created a new Mono for Android application named 2DDrawing. The namespace of the application is _2DDrawing.
When I get VS2010 to deploy to my device (Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.0.4), I get an "Unhandled exception in InstallPackage. See exception for details." A screen shot below is attached.
When I look in logcat, I see:
"05-28 14:52:59.444: W/PackageParser(193): /data/app/vmdl1621064073.tmp (at Binary XML file line #5): <activity> does not have valid android:name
The activity in question looks like this in AndroidManifest.xml:
<activity android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="Drawing Recipe" android:name="_2ddrawing.Activity1">
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
When I change the namespace to something like "TwoDDrawing", then these issues go away.
This is probably valid Android behaviour.
Would be nice for a more meaningful error message to help a developer troublshoot this problem.
