Description Xavier Rigau 2017-03-17 18:15:36 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a Sammple.sln on Xamarin Studio on Mac.
2) Add a sample Cocoa app to the project that targets Xamarin.mac .NEt 4.5
3) Copy the files to a PC
4) Run msbuild Sample.sln /t:Build /p:Configuration=Debug /p:ServerAddress=<your server> p:ServerUser=<your user> p:ServerPassword=<password>

C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Xamarin\Mac\Xamarin.Mac.Common.targets(669,2): error MSB4019: The imported project "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Xamarin\Mac\Xamarin.Mac.XM45.targets" was not found. Confirm that the path in the <Import> declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk. [h:\Code\OSX\SampleApp.csproj]

Expected behavior:

Is builds the Mac OS X binaries in the PC using the Mac build server.

For some background information on the historical reasons why that profile exists: https://medium.com/@donblas/a-history-lesson-on-the-xamarin-mac-target-frameworks-and-their-new-names-473d2731d887#.eg7jq9up9

The future for XM on VS is the "Modern" profile, which will be our supported target framework moving forward, as it supports .NETStandard.

Daniel, which one will support named global mutexes?

a) Modern (Optimized profile also powering Xamarin.iOS) replace Mobile.
b) Full (Extended desktop API compatibility) replaces XM 4.5.

When can we start downloading betas? And will we be able to build for Mac OS X from Windows using MSBUILD?
