Description Jim Bennett 2017-03-06 21:27:00 UTC
When I try to set the port in a UI test using configurator.DevicePort(port) the port setting is ignored. I'm sure it used to work on earlier version of UITest but now doesn't seem to work on 2.0.7.

I have a Mac with multiple user accounts, and each account runs a set of UI tests (to get round the one instruments per user limitation), and each user runs UI tests using a different port - 37265 for one user, 37264 for another. When my tests run I get errors for the user that should be using 37264 saying port 37265 is in use.

cc dominic who will transfer this bug to the Test Cloud team (maintaining the UI test framework).

Hey Jim -

Indicates the following for `configurator.DevicePort(port)`:

> Configures the port of the device. Generally best left unset.

I'm uncertain whether this approach is expected to work as Apple likely has set that Instruments limitation for a reason - and if that limitation is required by Apple, then we can't support a method to circumvent that. I'll be resolving this as invalid for now (UITest issues don't typically get tracked in Bugzilla). If you do have any additional questions or want to talk further, use the link to contact support at the top right of the page when you're logged into Test Cloud and that'll get you directed through the appropriate route.
