your current version information, steps to reproduce, and relevant error
messages or log files if you are hitting an issue that looks similar to
this resolved bug and you do not yet see a matching new report.
Starting with the the 4.2 tree, I am unable to reliably view the running emulator sessions in VS 2010. On the exact same machine, I can see the emulator sessions running all the time with the exact same project in MonoDevelop. There appears to be some issue effecting reliability in of communication with ADB in VS that does not effect MD.
This issue is happening on a system that I use for demo purposes. It has the eval version installed. My system that has the full version does not have this problem.
Can you turn on "Extension debug logging" in Tools -> Options -> Mono for Android, restart VS, and try again?
Hopefully the monodroid.log will have something useful.

Dang, the proper things weren't getting logged in that version. If you could, please try logging again with 4.2.2 when it comes out.
