Description Naveen Katakam 2017-01-28 09:03:24 UTC
Testing Environment:
      •	OS x EI Capitan
      •	Ver 10.11.6
      •	Xamarin Studio: 6.1.3.
      •	Xamarin Inspector:

Pre -Requisites: Build and Debug Application by deploying in simulator.

   Scenario 1:
      1. Launch Voice-over and Launch Xamarin Studio.
      2. Debug an application and click on inspect.
      3. Switch to REPL view and perform mathematical operation (2+2).
      4. Navigate to Context menu (…) next to Result of operation.
      5. Expand that context menu using 'Control +option +Space'.
      6. Navigate through the elements in context menu and observe.
Note: Same issue Observed in remain similar places.

   Scenario 2:
      1. Launch Voice-over and Launch Xamarin Studio.
      2. Debug an application and click on inspect.
      3. Switch to Inspector view (view -> View inspector) and Select inspect button.
      4. Now select any ui element on simulator portion (Welcome to Xamarin Forms! If form template is selected).
      5. Switch to REPL view.
      6. Tab to Tostring() drop-down list and select Object members.
      7. Navigate to collapse/Expand elements and observe.

Actual Result:
   Scenario 1:
Voice-over is simply reading focused option.({value})

   Scenario 2:
Voice-over announcing element Name and type but not state.

   Scenario 1:
Voice-over should read element position and state.

   Suggested Fix:
( Eg: element Name 1 of 4 checked, Element name 2 of 4 unchecked)

   Scenario 2:
Voice-over should announce state of element

User Impact:

Scenario 1: User will not come to know which format currently item is checked.
Scenario 2: User will not be knowing that is a collapse and expand button.

It does not appear that macOS's VoiceOver supports announcing item positions in any meaningful way—I tried a number of native Mac controls, and none of them read out item positions, though they do tell you the number of items in the menu. I don't think there is any way to make VoiceOver do this, either.

I did update https://github.com/Microsoft/workbooks/issues/137 to reflect that you cannot navigate the dropdown menus correctly with the keyboard.
