The virtual indent mode doesn't work for non-C# files and other files that fall back to the copy-previous-line indenter, e.g. xml files, text files
It's no bug - it's not implemented there.
Xml files are your department. I don't see any way to do it for text files.
Setting that to enhancement.
If we can't do virtual indent for text files, then the option to remove trailing whitespace is broken.
Why isn't it possible to simply use the whitespace of the previous non-empty line as the virtual indent?
There is no trailing whitspace option - the label is wrong. The virtual indent mode has a different behaviour.
Hm, for text files this could be implemented this way, right.
