Please see the code in the gist below:


When you click the button labelled "Click to open red page as modal" - it will open red page as modal but the background color is default (black). It's disregarding the "Red" as background color from App.xaml resource dictionary.

When you click the button labelled "Click to open red page as normal" - it will add red page to the current navigation stack and it has the correct background color ("Red" as defined in the App.xaml resource dictionary)

I can confirm this happens in both UWP and WinPhone 8.1 projects.

Sample Project

Added a sample project using the code linked in comment #1. 

I've updated the status to NEEDINFO because I can't reproduce the issue with the code given (used in the attached sample) when I updated to Xamarin.Forms 

Please let me know if you no longer experience the same issue with this newest version and we can close this bug report.
