Description Felix Collins 2012-05-10 18:51:33 UTC
I have a set of resx files in another project which I have added to my monotouch project. I'm not sure if it is relevant that they are out of the source tree for the project. I set everything up and it I can retrieve resources at run time. If I close the solution and reopen it the Resource Id for the default resx file gets modified. Specifically it goes from "MobileBullet.MobileBullet.Resources.Localization.resources" to
This then causes a missing resource manifest exception when I run and try to get a resource. The resx file in question is called Localization.resx and is "linked" into the project source tree at /MobileBullet/Resources. The project name is MobileBullet.MT but the project output file is simply called MobileBullet.dll. So the resource ID generated as <dll filename>.<internal project path>.<resx filename>.resources should be MobileBullet.MobileBullet.Resources.Localization.resources as above. Monodevelop seems to be removing the second level project folder name ("Resources") from the id when it load the solution.
I'm pretty sure that MD shouldn't be modifying the resource id on solution load anyway. I have to manually revert the name and do a rebuild of the project in order to fix this.

Actually it appears that what has been happening is that MD was not saving the changes to the project file.

Is this still an issue?

Not sure. That was a long time ago! Closing as have moved on to other projects and don;t have time to repro with latest versions..
