Description Marcel 2016-12-12 10:19:05 UTC
I am using Xamarin for Visual Studio in release channel.

With Version everything works fine.

But I have upgraded to the latest stable release (4.2.x using the updater) and then the Visual Studio Android emulator stopps working.

When I try to deploy my app in the emulator, it installs the app and run it, but it closes immediately.
Visual Studio output says "Could not connect to the debugger.".
This happens even when I try out another emulator, like Genymotion, but when I deploy it on my real phone it works fine.

On the internet I found out two solutions for this error, but both seem to not work for me.
I've asked on Stack Overflow to get help on this error. Here is the link to the question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/40224610/visual-studio-xamarin-could-not-connect-to-the-debugger

After removing 4.2 and installing, the emulator is working again.

I got this error on Windows 8.1 and also on a fresh Windows 10.

## Note to the Xamarin team

Possible duplicate of Bug 45212, based on a mention in the StackOverflow link of running on an AMD processor.

Sorry, I forgot to add my specifications.

Yes I am running an AMD processor and this could be a dublicate of Bug 45212.
