Trying to activate MT 4.1.1 on a machine without a previous MT install fails with 'Unknown error. Contact support'.
'netstat' does not show any sign of a connection to the activation server being made.
After 'killing' monodevelop and the windows that was prompting for the activation, I got the 'index 17' message.
Alex, that's fixed, right ?
We now know what the problem was, it was caused by the installer shipping with a copy of Mono instead of a symlink, causing a dependency on Mono 2.10.4 that might not be available on the user's system.
Alex is working on fixing this issue. Please close when done.
This is fixed in 184.108.40.206 and 4.0.7.
