Description krt2076 2016-11-22 02:56:17 UTC
In running MonoDevelop on a Raspberry Pi 3B, I was following the introductory tutorial and tried to run the sample program. MonoDevelop displayed a message just above the code panel,

"Cannot execute "/home/pi...[program name]". File name has not b..."

That was all I can see of the message. Clicking on it, using the left or right arrows, etc. does not reveal more of the message. The message is not duplicated in other error or message panels.

With help from the MonoDevelop mailing list I did find the log file which had the complete message.

I found a workaround, not a fix, installing xterm. The workaround only addresses the specific issue by not causing the specific error message to appear. Longer error messages will still be unreadable in the MonoDevelop system.
