Currently the Update App uses the generic MacOS Icon. This doesn't look professional at all, when the rest of the application looks great.

Where can I test this? Can you please attach a screenshot?

Install any update from MonoDevelop. The "Xamarin Update" app will open and install the update.

Current updater look and feel:

Doesn't look terrible to me..
Comment 6 PJ 2013-01-10 15:03:47 UTC
Yeah, I see now! :)

We probably want a small difference between the icons (ideally, X.S icon is better than the current one).

Even just a small blue triangle over the current X.S could be perfect.

This should be trivial to implement (at least the comment 5 solution), and probably relatively trivial to make a whole new icon. Increasing the priority.

Vinicius, what would the timeline be on a new icon?

At this point, I recommend buying an icon, or an icon set, and using these as the basis for generic icons when we need them.

Today, we have verified this issue with the latest builds:

Xamarin Studio-
MFA 4.6.01046
Mono Framework 2.10.11

And we have observed that on Mac environment this issue is not appearing, as now the correct updater icon is appearing as per the attached file in the bug.

However, on Windows environment the incorrect updater icon is appearing, as on Windows the icon is appearing of the old MD.

Below is the screencast for the same:

Hence, reopening this issue w.r.t Windows.

This has already been fixed on windows too.
