Description David Greene 2016-10-12 17:10:17 UTC
The customer has written a Xamarin Forms app, which immediately crashes when launched on 32bit devices from the iTunes App Store or TestFlight.
This crash does not occur on 64bit devices, in a simulator, or when debugging on a physical 32bit device from XS/VS.

Reviewing the IPA bundle after being build, the mscorlib.dll is present as described in:

This issue can only be reproduced by downloading the application to a device. As such, no sample project is available.
-Visit the iTunes App Store and download "PSAIT" from Johnson Controls, Inc
-Launch the app from either the store or app icon on the home screen using a 32bit iOS device running iOS 9.x

-No crashlog is generated
-Attaching the device and viewing the Xcode console shows:
Aug 30 16:50:14 DEVICE-NAME PSAITiOS[328] <Warning>: Found new TLS offset at 176
Aug 30 16:50:14 DEVICE-NAME PSAITiOS[328] <Warning>: The assembly mscorlib.dll was not found or could not be loaded.

Is this still an issue? I could not find the app listed in the AppStore maybe it is not available on the Mex Appstore
Comment 3 Vincent Dondain [MSFT] 2017-01-23 22:26:16 UTC

I can find the app on the US App Store (iPad only) however I do not possess a 32bit only iPad. I asked the team if they can reproduce (cc Gouri).

In the meantime to be able to properly assist we will need a bit more than just the App Store app:

- Could we have the original IPA?
- A test case, small project to try to reproduce would be amazing.
- Can we try what Brendan suggested wrt Test Cloud?

I'm give this bug one more month so we can gather more info from the customer but with only the app on the App Store it's gonna be tricky for us to troubleshoot the issue.

We have the same problem with our app. Crashes on 32 bit iOS devices when installed from the App Store, with the same error in the console (mscorlib.dll was not found).

Here is the iTunes link:

I'll check if we can provide the ipa.
