The attached VS project reproduces this bug
=== Overview ===
On UWP, using Xamarin.Forms, sometimes Grid layout seems to calculate row heights incorrectly. The problem symptoms include:
a) A grid row gets unusually high, containing white space.
b) Rows after the unusually high row get pushed down.
c) Sometimes the last rows get pushed beyond the grid/view clip rect and are only partially visible or not visible at all.
A tarball containing a reproducing project is attached.
This is potentially related to https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=44302
=== Steps to Reproduce ===
Using the attached project:
1. Click ButtonA, which opens up a modal dialog.
2. Close modal dialog.
3. Observe the extra space that appeared between rows Foo 1 and Foo 2.
4. Click ButtonB, which hides it.
5. The extra space between rows Foo 1 and Foo 2 should disappear.
Note that the extra space appears only once. If you repeat the steps, the layout will no longer shift. To reproduce the problem, you need to restart the app.
In the actual application where we experience this, or a similar layout problem, the problem happens every time. In our case the problematic view is shown as the detail page of master/detail page. The workaround we are currently using is just to set HeightRequest on the row that gets the unstable vertical space.
=== Expected Behavior ===
Grid rows will maintain their vertical height.
=== Actual Behavior ===
Grid rows end up with extra vertical space even though there doesn't seem to be anything that particularly changes vertically in the layout.
