Description Pablo Biagioli 2016-06-16 16:19:16 UTC

I currently have Xamarin Studio 6 in a Mac, with all the default setup.

I tried making a default Xamarin.Forms Shared project and doing this:

public partial class App : Application
		public App ()
			InitializeComponent ();
			MainPage = new MasterDetailPage () {
				Master = new ContentPage () { Title = "Hello Master", Icon = new FileImageSource () { File = "icon.png" } },
				Detail = new NavigationPage (new testBurgerPage ())

the "icon.png" is showing perfectly in iOS, but in Android I keep seeing the material design hamburger icon instead.

I've got the same problem, hoping for a quick fix as we've got our release coming up in a couple of weeks!

One of the priority customer is hitting this issue as well, you can find the test case at https://github.com/cz4rny/Xamarin-Stubborn-Icon

Android's drawer isn't an easy fix, and the FormAppSupportActivity uses the DrawerLayout apparently. I tried with a custom renderer and finding a way of accessing the ActionBarDrawerToggle but couldn't find it even with reflection and spying on private fields of renderer's internals.

The go to material on the Drawer is here: https://developer.android.com/training/implementing-navigation/nav-drawer.html

Is there a timeframe available for this bug?

5 months have passed. It seems excessive long for "Priority Support".

Can we get an update or workaround for this issue?
