This is like a follow-up for bug 40791, but for libgdiplus. By reading GdipGetGenericFont*() functions, one can get a list about what libgdiplus considers as "generic", and how different this is from system/fontconfig views:

Generic    libgdiplus     Remarks
=======    ==========     =======
SansSerif MS Sans Serif See fontconfig bug fd.o 95232. They don't even match MS Sans Serif.
Serif Serif This one is good, and generic.
Monospace Courier New Fontconfig knows what looks like Courier New, but this is not "generic".

You may want to set the query strings to simply "Sans" and "Monospace", which gives you fontconfig defaults for these fonts defined by either the user or the system.

If you do care about metric compatibility, consider using "Times New Roman" for serif. The current behavior is not consistent anyway.
