Description David CASBONNE 2016-04-22 01:34:59 UTC
CarouselView is a great component but one of the big "miss" is a PageIndicator or something else to indicate to the user that he could swipe to change view.

I think this could be an option, something like a property named "PageIndications" binded to an enum which could have 3 values :
- None
- BottomCircle
- Preview

This property could support a flag enum to have multiple displayed indications.

What I mean by "BottomCircle" ?
-> as many circle on the bottom of the page as we have items (if we have more items than you could display, just fill the more you could).
-> active page have to be highlighted in the bottom circles while others are just grayed.

What I mean by "Preview" ?
-> it could be a little hard to explain but I would try :) I hope it would be clear!
-> For example, on Windows Phone, on a TabbedPage, we can see a part of the next tab name on the right of the actual tab name. It shows to the user that he could swipe to see something else.
-> Transposed to the CarouselView, I think we could have a part of the left and right "views". By a part I mean something like 10-15%. I know that the actual view would have it sizes reduced to 70-80% but I think it would be a great feature on this amazing component.

Good ideas. We'll push it onto the backlog. Gotta get through all your other bugs first. :)

Don't worry is not a really important feature !
It would be great but other are bugs so it's a good idea to go through the others before this one ;)

As it's a new feature I would go depper : when choosing the "Preview" mode, left and right parts of the displayed view (which displays part of the left and right views) could have a little transformation. Something like 10-20° on Z-axis to simulate a round display.
(As the dropdown on iOS when choosing a date for example).

Thanks for everything !
