Android axml editor freezes 12 seconds each time the axml file is saved or switched between code and preview view.

After opening the solution with Xamarin Studio Windows, and after XS windows crashed in a middle of writing a new drawable in the xml text editor, i switched back to VS2015, and now editing/saving an axml does not have any freeze anymore.

Maybe it helps you find this annoying bug.

@Juan I think this could be a duplicate of the issue you were investigating with the resource-related MSBuild target blocking the IDE.

Closing as using Android Studio designer with XamarIdea is much much faster
