Isn't this what you're looking for: https://developer.xamarin.com/api/property/UIKit.UINavigationBar+UINavigationBarAppearance.Translucent/ ?
Comment 2 Mark Woollard 2016-03-30 11:14:14 UTC
I've just hit this too. Its documented as being supported but doesn't compile if you try and use it in your code.
Comment 3 Mark Woollard 2016-03-30 11:43:37 UTC
Here's my work-around for now:

class UINavigationBarAppearance {

    [DllImport ("/usr/lib/libobjc.dylib", EntryPoint = "objc_msgSend")]
    static extern void void_objc_msgSend_bool (IntPtr receiver, IntPtr selector, bool arg1);

    public static void SetAppearanceTranslucent(bool translucent) {
        void_objc_msgSend_bool (UINavigationBar.Appearance.Handle, Selector.GetHandle ("setTranslucent:"), translucent);

Comment 4 Sebastien Pouliot 2016-04-05 14:28:18 UTC
This was fixed a while ago but is not in C6 (XI 9.6.x). You'll need to use C7 (9.8.x) to get the binding (or use the workaround from comment #3).
