"On both a Nexus S and iPhone 4S when scrolling through the list of exhibitors or sessions the app stops responding and then closes. On iPhone the app just closes and on Android the app shows a force close dialogue box. When clicking on wait, the app closes anyway."
I am not experiencing the crash on an iPodTouch in my testing, but I will continue to try to reproduce.
Is this an issue that you are continuously experiencing or is it intermittent?
It is very easy to replicate on my Nexus S and a friends Apple iPhone 4S. On the Nexus S, go to sessions and flick up and down, first stutters, then crashes. iPhone is even easier, open speakers and scroll. Doesn't have to be fast at all and usually does it in one flick of finger. Just tried it again on iPhone and it will crash when scrolling very slowly on speakers when you get to the letter B in the list.
I hope this helps!
Nexus S is running android 4.03, iPhone is running 5.1. If this helps?
Is this a build of code on Github or the AppStore/Android Market version?
I know this behavior, but I thought it was resolved a few commits back.
I had this problem on an Android tab on a couple builds of the app as we were testing, but I haven't been able to reproduce on the latest github build or the respective store builds.
This was using the market versions of the application downloaded yesterday.
I have now reproduced it on two iPhone 4S's one iPhone4 and a Sony Experia S running Gingerbread. Couldn't reproduce the issue on iPhone 3GS funnily enough and the Experia took a lot flicking to make it happen.
Have you been able to repo this yet?
I'm trying to convince my company to switch to Mono for mobile development and was planning on using this app as a case study. They work in the exhibition industry so just seeing a list of exhibitors on different devices will please them :)
I still can't reproduce the exact issue on any device, but I got a crash on a Froyo tablet on app open. I will investigate more thoroughly soon. Also, I will make sure to get my hands on an iPhone 4S soon to try the exact same device as you.
One question, how are you running Android 4.0.3 on the Nexus S? From what I see it's not officially available. Are you running a community ROM?
I couldn't reproduce it on a 3G S but I could on a 4, two 4Ss, Nexus S and Experia S.
Nope, not running community ROM, I'm running official signed Google rom. I had rooted my phone and was running cyanogenmod ICS but the offical ROM doesn't need to be rooted because it is signed. Although Google have not released it OTA, their CDN download server had the rom on so I just downloaded it from Google, copied it to SD card and install like a normal rom update. Works great!
Thanks for the info Max, sorry I haven't been able to get any of the exact same devices before now.
I finally got my hands on a friend's iPhone 4s and I could reproduce the crash on the exhibitors list.
I apologize, but I mis-remembered the other problematic list as the speakers list and not the sessions list. I tested the speakers list and it was fine for me, but I should have tested sessions.
There was one trait in the crash that I happened to see, and I wanted to check with you to see if you saw it too. I was only seeing the crash when scrolling *up* on the list of exhibitors.
Now, there are other possibilities such as an imbalance in my swiping speed and things like that, so I'm wondering if you happened to see that too.
Sorry for taking so long to repro!
CraigD be in touch if you need any more info.
Glad you have reproduced it :)
I hadn't noticed that it happened in a particular direction no. On Experia S I needed to violently scroll up and down a lot but on the 4S just a little scroll with do the trick. Nexus S doesn't need too much provoking to crash but more than the 4S.
On an android device you can see more detail if you click on report when it crashes. I submitted a crash report, not sure if you get those through the app store?
Is this likely to be looked into in the immediate future?
Would really like to give a demo of this but in it's current state I wouldn't feel comfortable.
This app is no longer supported. Apologies for the delay.
