Description George Cook 2016-03-02 01:36:15 UTC
I have an addin I need to migrate, and I can't even test run it.

Even creating a new addin (using the addin extension) results in the following stack trace every time I run (note, compilation is fine, it's just launching the host xmarin studio that fails).

In order to run the addin you need to ensure the correct Mono runtime is being used since Xamarin Studio 6 now uses the 64 bit Mono runtime. The error "Native type size mismatch between Xamarin.Mac.dll and the executing architecture. Xamarin.Mac.dll was built for 64-bit, while the current process is 32-bit." indicates that the 32 bit Mono runtime is being used when it should be the 64 bit runtime.

To be able to run/debug your addin you can select Mono 64 bit to be the default runtime in Xamarin Studio 6.0. Go into Preferences - Projects - Runtimes. Then find the Mono version that has (64 bit) in the name and set that as the default. You should then be able to run/debug your addin in Xamarin Studio.
