It is not possible to select a mipmap resource as the application icon for an Android app in Visual Studio 2015. @mipmap resources do not appear in the Application Icon drop down of the Android Manifest pane of the properties for a Xamarin.Android application. Steps to duplicate.

1. Open up an existing Xamarin.Android application in VS2015.
2. Ensure that there are mipmap folders and resources in the Resources folder. There should be on mipmap folder per screen density qualifier (see the attached screenshot.
3. Compile the project (Rebuild All).
4. Right click on the Xamarin.Android project, and open the properties for the Android project.
5. Click on the Android Manifest tab.
6. Click on the Application Icon dropdown. Notice that the mipmap resources are not selectable in the dropdown.

Note that it is possible to set the Application Icon via the project properties in Xamarin Studio.

Please provide the sample repro solution so we can quickly repro and implement the fix.

Once attached, please change the status to NEW again so it shows up again in our triage query.

I also have a similar problem. Resources from the mipmap folder are not shown in the "Application Icon" dropdown in the project properties (Android Manifest). Only files from drawable folder are appearing. Please fix that.

Current workaround: Edit AndroidManifest.xml manually!

<application android:label="$safeprojectname$" android:icon="@mipmap/ic_launcher"></application>

It doesn't appear in the project properties, but when running on a device it seems to work.

I am seeing this too. Only png files show up in the dropdown.
