I installed monotouch and when try to open the sample project i just downloaded from monotouch web site.  when click on the .xib file to view the design i got an error has occurred

I think that the problem here is that MonoDevelop hadn't yet finished parsing the project's source code and creating a ProjectDom.

As a workaround, try editing a source code file (adding a blank line, and then removing it and saving). Then give it a few seconds to parse stuff, then double-click the .xib file.

Does that "fix" it?

That would at least confirm if my suspicion is the case.

After i rebooted the machine and it work.
