I placed (docked) solution explorer pane on the right because I am used to that position. Everything works fine till the moment I start (execute/run) my app (C# console app) -- solution explorer pane jumps from right side to left (still docked) and remains there while my app is running. When it quits, it jumps back to the right.
There are two layouts being used here: One when you are not debugging (Solution layout) and one when you are debugging (Debug layout). Both these layouts show different windows - in the debug layout you have extra debugging windows.
To keep the solution window on the right when debugging:
1) From the View menu select - Debug. This shows the Debug layout.
2) Move the Solution window where you want it on the right hand side.
3) From the View menu select - Solution. This switches you back to the Solution layout.
Now the Solution window will be on the right in both layouts, when debugging or not debugging.
