Description Adam Hartley [MSFT] 2015-12-10 10:36:12 UTC
When creating an asset catalog, there are no options for iOS 8 and later.

This mean that the following iPhone launch images are missing and are unable to be set:

Retina HD 4.7 Portrait
Retina HD 5.5 Portrait
Retina HD 5.5 Landscape

I think this documentation is also obsolete:

It says
is the necessary file name for iPhone 6 Plus in Portrait mode.

Actually it is

Created attachment 14225 [details]
For comparison Xamarin Studio on Mac does include the desired sizes

As shown in the attached screenshot, Xamarin Studio includes:

iPhone Portrait iOS 8,9:
- Retina HD 5.5
- Retina HD 4.7

iPhone Landscape:
- Retina HD 5.5

In contrast, the Visual Studio asset catalog editor does not include these sizes.

For tidiness I will mark this as a duplicate of a slightly earlier report about the same problem.
